HAWAII - THE BIG ISLAND CHALLENGE | (Population 148,677, Area 4,028 sq. miles) The "Big Island" has volcanoes Maunaloa (13,679 feet) and Kilauea, and Maunakea (13,796 feet), the Kau Desert, incredible waterfalls, and the colorful orchids of Hilo. Points of interest include Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Kealakekua Bay, Kailua-Kona, Kawaihae, Parker Ranch, and Waipio Valley.
MAUI CHALLENGE | (Population 117,644, Area 727 sq. miles) The "Valley Isle" is home to Haleakala, which at 10,023-feet is the largest dormant volcano crater in the world. Lahaina was Hawaii's capital before 1845 and joins Kaanapali and Wailea resort areas as some of the most popular tourist destinations in the state.
LANAI CHALLENGE | (Population 3,193, Area 140 sq. miles) Hawaii's "Secluded Island” was previously known as the "Pineapple Island," With a rich history of agriculture and pineapple, the island is now known for its two new world class resorts.
MOLOKAI CHALLENGE | (Population 7,404, Area 260 sq. miles) The "Friendly Isle" is known for a diversified agriculture, tourism and the world's highest sea cliffs along its northern coast.
OAHU CHALLENGE | (Population 876,156, Area 597 sq. miles) Honolulu is the Capital of Hawaii and showcases some of Hawaii’s most well-known landmarks and monuments, such as Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, the North Shore, and more.
KAUAI CHALLENGE | (Population 58,303, Area 552 sq. miles) The "Garden Island" offers some of the lushest vegetation in the state, and is highlighted by waterfalls, the Waimea Canyon, and colorful tropical plants and flowers.
